SIRAYAT - KOTAH

The Tazimi nobles and Jagirdars of Kotah, including the Kotri Sardars, are thirty-six in number of whom the majority belong to Hada clan of the Chauhan dynasty. Under the suzerainty of the Kotah Darbar, there are eight fiefs known as kotris, they are Indargarh, Balwan, Khatoli, Gainta, Karwar, Pipalda, Phasud and Antarda, and they pay to Jaipur State an annual tribute of Rs 14,390-13. These kotris were originally subject to Bundi but the allegiance was transferred to Kotah in 1823. No succession or adoption can take place without the permission of the Darbar. Besides the eight Kotri and Nimola, there are 28 Tazimi Jagirdars. (1931)
