PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY:
The founder, Sandhu, appears to have originally been a Rajput, but during the 13th century, he emigrated from Ghazni in Afghanistan to the Manjha, where he settled with his family. Changa, thirteenth in descent from Sandhu, was an influential Chaudhury, and founded the village of Padhana some 39 kilometres south-east of Lahore, in the reign of Padhsah Akbar (1556/1605). Dibawas, a grandson of Changa, committed a murder and the office of Chaudhury was taken from him. It wasn't till the time of Sukha Singh, that the family recovered some power and prestige.
