PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The ancestor of the family was Kalas, a Bajwa Jat, who left his home at Pasrur and founded a village to which he gave his own name, now known as Kalawala. Kalas had two sons, Ami Shah and Pati, the latter of whom was the ancestor of Sardar Diwan Singh, who was adopted by Sardar Hari Singh of the Bhangi misl and inherited all of his possessions around 1760, but shortly afterwards he was able to only retain about half.
