she died 30th January 1874, and had issue, 1 son and 1
daughter, as
well as an adoptive son. He
died
12th January 1897.

3rd Chief of Jamkhandi 1897/1924, adopted from the
Chinchanikar branch
of the Patwardhan
family,
Chief of Jamkhandi, born 9th May 1883, succeeded 13th
January 1897,
installed 4th June 1903,
K.C.I.E. [cr. Jan-1913] (#2),
took active
part
in
France in 1915, during WW1, in 1918 he was granted a
9-gun salute and
made
Hon. Captain in the British Army, he as a supervisor
of Red Cross in
the
Mesopotamia, married 1stly, 1900, Rama Bai Raste,
daughter of Bala
Sahib
Raste, from the village of Vai, died 1st October 1907,
married 2ndly,
12th
June 1913, Damle, daughter of Damle of Pune and
had issue, one
son
and one daughter. He died 25th February 1924 (by being
crushed under
the
feet of an angry elephant).

1924/1947, K.B.E. [cr.1947], Raja [cr.1935], born 5th
November 1906 and
succeeded
25th February 1924 (#2),
installed 1926, married March 1925, Shrimant
Soubhagyavati
Lady Lilavatibai Sahib, Kaisar-i-Hind Gold Medal,
daughter of Shrimant
Madhavrao Moreshwarrao Pandit, Pant Amatya, Chief
Saheb of Bavda
Ramchandra,
and had issue, one son. He died 22nd August
1947.

- Dr.
Indu Patwardhan,
born 14th May 1926, educated at P.B. High School,
Jamkhandi and Rajaram
College, Kolhapur; achieved diplomas in Occupational
Therapy,
Homeopathy,
Ayurvedic Visharad and Sangeet Visharad, awarded
"Dalit Mitra" in
Maharashtra
State and "Tamra Patraprashasti" from Karnataka
State. Dr Indu
Patwardhan
left home to join Gandhi's movement of Sabarmati in
1942, later was
trained
as a school teacher by Madam Maria Montessory, and
was working at St.
Columbia
High School, Bombay for two months before being
selected to join the
then
British India Red Cross and St. John Ambulance.
After intensive
training
she was posted to Burma under active service during
World War II and
was
the first Indian lady working actively in South East
Asia and
thereafter
worked in military hospital, Poona. She was the
joint lady camp
commandant
with lady Martten and was responsible for the
rehabilitation of
refugees
and women abductees in Pakistan. Later she studied
Homeopathy and
started
her own clinic in rural areas of Poona, worked with
the Poona Women's
Council,
the troops aid committee. She was a founder member
of Poona Blindmen's
Association. In 1965 she started worked with leprosy
sufferers and in
1970
established Anandgam for their benefit. She died 8th
February 1999.

PARSHURAM RAO II PATWARDHAN, 5th Raja of
Jamkhandi
1947/1952,
born 1926,
last ruling Prince of Jamkhandi, having merged his
state in the Indian
Union on 19th February 1948, married and had issue,
two sons. He died
18th
December 1953.
