PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: Miru, a Jat of the Gill Clan, founded the village of Chinah some 13 kilometres from Raja Sansi around 1600. His eldest son, Dadu, founded a village of the same name, near Jastarwal, where his descendants have resided to the present time (1900). In 1846, Raja Lal Singh, reduced the value of the jagir to Rs21,600 and subject to the service of 25 horsemen. In 1848, most members of the family joined the rebels under Sher Singh, and fought in their ranks throughout the war. As a result, after annexation, the shares of Jai Singh, Mohr Singh, Hari Singh, Hardit Singh, Amar Singh, Attar Singh and Fateh Singh were resumed and each received an allowance of Rs240 for life. Only Badhan Singh and Maha Singh, were allowed to retain their shares as they had remained loyal. Members were....

- Sardar Karam Singh, Jagirdar of Chhina; born in Village Chhina, Amritsar, he was adopted by Sardar Tara Singh Shahid, but after his death he joined the Bhangi misl, and took possession of Firozki, Kaleki, Rurki and Bajra in Sialkot district, as well as Chinah and neighbouring villages in Amritsar district; he experienced the same fate as other Bhangi sirdars in losing his estates to Maharaja Ranjit Singh, but shortly afterwards he received back in jagir, Chinah, Nagran and Firozki worth Rs 50,000 and subject to the service of 70 horsemen; he served in many campaigns with his sons, in Multan, Kashmir and Peshawar, and on his death, his jagir was inherited by both his sons in equal shares; married and had issue.

- Risaldar-Major Sardar Bahadur Sardar Hardit Singh, Head of the Family 1876/1892, he joined Hodsons Horse in 1857 as Jamadar, then served as Risaldar-Major of 9th Bengal Lancers, with the title of Sardar Bahadur; Provincial Darbari in succession to his brother in 1876; he was recognized as the Head of the Family; married and had issue, one son. He died 1892.
- Risaldar-Major Sardar Bahadur Sardar Mahtab Singh, educated at Aitchison Chiefs' College, Lahore; he was appointed as A.D.C. with the rank of Captain, to HH the Maharaja of Patiala; State Excise Commissioner; he served as Risaldar-Major of 6th Bengal Cavalry, and was granted the title of Sardar Bahadur for his services in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882; married and had issue. He died 1911.
