Predecessors and Short History: The
founder of the family was a Rajput, fled from Rajpura in the
Ambala district, on the invasion of India by
Shahab-ud-din Ghori in the 14th century, and conquered the territory of
Dhami. The State was formerly a feudatory of Bilaspur, but it was made
directly
dependent on the British Power upon the expulsion of the Gurkhas in
1815. The Rana maintains a military force of 60 infantry (in 1893).

of Tharoch, and had issue, five
children.
He died 8th May 1987 at Snowden Hospital, Simla.

unmarried in
1977.
