  9. Raja CHAITAN DEO BHANJ, 21st Raja of Daspalla 1873/1896, born 1854, succeeded 21st January 1873 (#1), the title of Raja has been enjoyed by the head of the family since the time of the Mahrattas, and was formally conferred by the British Government on 21st May 1874.

  10. Raja NARAYAN DEO BHANJ, 22nd Raja of Daspalla 1896/1913, born 1860, married and had adoptive issue issue. He died 1913.

Raja KISHOR CHANDRA DEO BHANJ, 23rd Raja of Daspalla 1913/1960, born 16th April 1908 and succeeded by adoption on 11th December 1913, granted ruling powers on the 3rd March 1930, educated at Rajkumar College, Raipur (Diploma); M.L.A. (Orissa) 1952/1960, Minister in the Orissa Government, married Rani Ras Sundari Devi, only daughter of Raja Dibyashankar Sudhal Deb of Bamra, and had issue, three sons and one daughter. He died 16th January 1960.

    • Pattayet Bijoy Chandra Deo Bhanj Pattayet Bijoy Chandra Deo Bhanj, born 15th October 1933, educated at Rajkumar College, Raipur (now in Chhatisgarh), at A.V.N. College, Vishakhapatnam and at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack; he was a Research scholar of Delhi University in History under Late Bishweswar Prasad and Dr. Amba Prasad, he took part in Riding, Swimming, Football, Hockey, Tennis and other games while at school and college and was also a keen debater; he worked for companies like Hyderabad Allwyn and French Motor Car Co. Ltd at Calcutta from 1962 to 1988 in different capacities in the Sales Department and also did liaison and Public Relations for the companies; after retirement, he lived at his Bapuji Nagar residence in Bhubaneswar and devoted time to his farm at Daspalla and to his various activities and social interests; he travelled extensively all over India in connection with social activities and Historical research; his interests included a study of Vedanta, English and Oriya literature, classical music, Drama, Photography and Travelling, he was a Member of many Societies and Associations, including, Life Member, Asiatic Society, Calcutta; Life Member, Alliance Francaise, Calcutta; Member of the Institute of Historical Studies, Calcutta; Life Member of Indian History Congress; Member of Calcutta Historical Society; Member of Calcutta Management Association since 1973; Founder and Executive Committee Member of Kala Sangam, Calcutta; President, ARKACIANS (old boys of Rajkumar College residing at Calcutta); Free Mason; Life Member, Orissa State Concil of Child Welfare; Life Member, Viswa Orissa Sammilani, Cuttack; Life Member of Red Cross Society, Orissa; Life Member, Chinmaya Mission, Calcutta; Life Member of Bhubaneswar Club; Life Member of Mythic Society, Bangalore; Member of World Wild Life Fund for Nature W.W.F. Bhubanewar Chapter; Life Member, Bhubaneswar Music Circle; he died unmarried on 9th June 2012 at The Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, after a long battle with cancer and was cremated at the Satya Nagar Electric Crematorium the next day.

    • Rajkumar Pramode Chandra Deo Bhanj, born 15th January 1938, married Kumar Rani Padma Devi of Chandrapur, Dist. Janjir-Champa, Chattisgarh, and has issue, one daughter.
      • Rajkumari Priya Deo Bhanj, married Lt.-Col. Jeet Singh Rawat of Jalali, Uttaranchal, and has issue, one daughter.

  12. Raja PURNA CHANDRA DEO BHANJ, 24th Raja of Daspalla 1965/2006, born 1931, educated at Rajkumar College in Raipur and at A. V. N. College in Vizag (B.A.); Chairman of Daspalla Hotels Limited; President of the Ramakrishna Mission in Vizagapatnam and and chief patron of Utkal Sankrutika Samaj, contributed to the construction of the Jagannath temple on Daspalla Hills; Member of the General Council of the Rajkumar college, Raipur and Central advisory board on Anthropology; M.P. (Lok Sabha) 1962/1967, M.L.A. (Orissa) 1957/1961; Member of Waltair club, Bhubaneswar club, Vizag camera club, Diners club and Chelmsford club; interests and pastimes were Still Photography, Cine Photography, Big game hunting, Philately, Numismatics and also Reading, Writing short Oriya poems, horse riding and travelling; married 1949, Rani Kamala Devi, daughter of Sri Sri Sri Vyricharla Narayana Gajapathi Raju Bahadur Garu of Chemudu, and his wife, Rani Chandramani Devi, and had issue, one son and two daughters. He died 19th June 2006 at Visakhapatnam.

    • Rani Vyricharla Preeti Devi, married 30th January 1971, Sri Raja Vyricharla Kishore Chandra Deo Raju Bahadur Garu of Kurupam, and has issue, one son and one daughter.
    • Thakurani Uttara Devi, married Thakur Mahipal Singh of Vadner in Nashik, Malegaon taluka, a hotelier with the Taj Group.

NOTE: In 1913, Baishnab Charan Deo Bhanj, the cousin of the deceased Raja Narayan Deo tried to dethrone the new Raja (then a minor and the adopted son of Narayan Deo), with the help of the local Kandhas. He "excited their passions by telling them that if the Minor become chief, their lands would be measured and they would have to pay rent, and they would no longer be able to do as they pleased in the Forests and Jungles. On the other hand, if he become Raja, he would not interfere with them, and would divide amongst them half the savings of the late Chief. He took an oath to this effect and the Khonds in return swore to make him Chief, and to kill the Dewan if he stood in the way" (Para XI of the Judgement of John Gruning, dated 5-7-1915.
