PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The
Baliadi
(Baliati) estate was granted to the son of Nawab Shah
Qutubuddin Siddiky Koka, the first Subedar of Bengal, who
was an adopted son of Padshah Akbar and a foster brother
of Padshah Jahangir. Through him, the family also
claims descent from Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (Siddiky),
the first Caliph of Islam and the father in law of the
Prophet Muhammad of Islam. Estate holders were...
- Shah Qutubudduddin Siddiky Koka [Sheikh Khuban], he
was killed in a battle against Sher Afghan and lies
buried at Pir Baharam in Bardhaman in Bengal; married
and had issue.
- Saad Uddin Siddiky, he was granted three jagirs by
the Mughal Emperor, viz. Amenabad (modern Mankganj),
Talebabad (modern Gazipur) and Chandrapratap (modern
Tangail) when the capital of the Mughals in Bengal
shifted from Rajmahal (Burdwan, West Bengal) to
Dhaka (the present day capital of Bangladesh) in 1612;
he was also made the Commander of 5,000 foot soldiers
(Paanch Hazari).

- Khan Bahadur Chowdhury Kazemuddin Ahmed Siddiky,
Zamindar of Baliadi, born 1876, (received a Royal
charter from Warren Hastings to govern North Central
part of East Bengal under the permanent
settlement act of the British empire), Founding
President of the East Bengal and Assam Provincial
Muslim League when it was established at Dhaka in June
1908 with Khwaja Salimullah as its secretary. Member
of the Jagannath College Governing Body, Member of the
Muslim Deputation waiting on Lord Charles Hardinge to
press home their demand to establish a University at
Dhaka. In recognition of his public services the
British Government conferred upon him the title of Khan Bahadur;
married and had issue. He died 1937.

- Justice Badruddin Ahmed Siddiky, educated at
Galimpur, at Dhaka College (I.A., 1932), at Calcutta
University and at Dhaka University (Law, 1937);
former Chief Justice of the United Pakistan
who famously refused to give oath to
Tikkah Khan, as the Governor of East Pakistan,
thereby accelerating the movement for the
independence of Bangladesh; he was also the
permanent representative of the people of Bangladesh
to the United Nations; he served as the last Chief
Justice of East Pakistan, he joined the All India
Muslim League in 1935; he joined the Calcutta High
Court as an advocate in 1946 and was involved in the
Commission on the Hindu-Muslim riots of Calcutta;
Chairman of Pakistan Red Cross and Vice Chairman of
I.C.R.C.; appointed Adviser to the President of
Bangladesh with the rank and status of a Cabinet
Minister. He died in December 1991.

Chamber of Commerce and Industries; founder Treasurer
of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and a member
of the National Standing Committee; member of the
second parliament and served as state minister in
1980–81; President of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber
of Commerce and Industries in 1979 and Dhaka Chamber
of Commerce and Industries from 1976–1978; he served
as director of former National Bank of Pakistan and
Janata Bank.
