PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY:
A Fourth Class state, also known as Nani Jatwad, was
founded as a result of the partition of the original state
of Bajana amongst three Bhayat of that state, with Malek
Shri Hedar Khan [Hadoji], receiving a portion of Bajana,
Malek Shri Pir Khan [Lakhaji], receiving Sitapur and
Vanod, with Malek Shri Isa Khan [Isaji] receiving Valivada
(Warathi) as his portion. The Chief has jurisdictional
powers as follows:- Civil - suits up to Rs10,000 and
Criminal - sentences up to three years rigorous
imprisonment and Rs5,000 fine. In 1893, the Malek Shri
maintained a military force of 60 cavalry and 230

November 1924; he was invested with full ruling powers
on 11th june 1926 (#4 p.343)
