PROMINENT SODHI FAMILIES:
1. Sodhis of Anandpur: Anandpur was founded by Gulab Rai, who was the first cousin to the 10th Guru. From his brother Sham Chand`s four sons, Nahr Singh, Udai Singh, Khem Singh and Chur Singh, are descended the four branches of Anandpur Sodhis, namely the Bari, Dusri, Teesri and Chauthi Sarkar. They held a Jagir worth 10,000 rupees in Patiala and a Jagir of worth 4,750 rupees in Faridkot.
2. Sodhis of Kartarpur: descended from Ram Das, third son of Guru Arjun.
3. Sodhis of Ferozpur, Patiala: descended from the second son of Guru Arjun Prithi Chand, who was the elder brother of Guru Arjan Dev ji the 5th Sikh Guru.
